Birds

Ever since my family’s parakeet Izzy would perch at the edge of a plate and share pancakes, I’ve been fascinated by birds. Fortunate to work with raptors before, recently I had to pleasure of photographing quite the opposite. My daughter’s class hatched four little ducklings and we were very excited for her turn to care for them for a weekend. Unfortunately, their brother Mango had an incident with a murderous dog the night before she got them. A sad event for everyone indeed. Yet the ducklings soldiered on, proving to be strong, resilient and quite adorable survivors. We felt compelled to capture their portraits. RIP Mango.
