Birds

Ever since my family’s parakeet Izzy would perch at the edge of a plate and share pancakes, I’ve been fascinated by birds. Recently my daughter’s class hatched four ducklings and we were very excited for her turn to care for them. Unfortunately, their brother Mango had an incident with a murderous dog the night before she received them. A sad event for everyone. Yet the ducklings soldiered on, proving to be strong, resilient and quite adorable survivors. We felt compelled to capture their portraits. RIP Mango.
